Signature Summer Experiences

Our event calendar makes the most of summer days and nights. Kids can participate in exciting youth camps and activities or simply spend time in the great outdoors. Grown-ups can enjoy local bands at Cascade pool, or sit down to a regionally inspired dinner and live music with the family. Amid the beauty of the towering Cascade peaks, time slows down, freeing you to connect with the people you love most.

LITTLE BUCKAROOS CAMP

Dress up like a buckaroo and take a scenic hay wagon ride to the Equestrian Center to meet, feed, and brush our horses, take a tour of our equestrian barn, enjoy a fun pony ride, and even take your turn at roping. Hop back in the wagon for a ride to dinner and compete in a stick horse rodeo in this fully supervised event.

SUMMER YOUTH CAMPS

From a variety of arts and crafts and outdoor games to educational and fun adventure walks, swimming, golf clinics, and more. Young ones can make the most of long summer days with a full calendar of youth-oriented programming, ideal for guests aged 5–12.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

Start the summer season with a bang. Friday through Monday of Memorial Day weekend features an engaging array of family-friendly events, from live music at Sundance to yoga by the pool adult pool. And don’t forget about RanchFest, our all-day festival featuring our favorite local food, wine, and lifestyle vendors.

JULY 4TH WEEKEND

Get ready for a star-spangled summer weekend. The whole family can celebrate with three days of non-stop fun in the sun, including events like our annual 5K run, pool party with a live DJ to beat the summer heat, and our 10th annual county fair with carnival games, live music, all-American BBQ, and more.

LIVE MUSIC SERIES

During summer, music abounds at Brasada Ranch. Catch our favorite musicians performing acoustic shows at Range Restaurant & Bar, waterside at our adults-only Cascade Pool, and Sunday nights as you dine family-style at our seasonal signature event Feast from the Fire.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Give your summer a proper send-off with a three-day weekend filled with signature events from special kids activities, family pool parties, and so much more to our Labor Day BBQ with live music, ranch-to-table dishes, drinks, and the sunset providing the perfect backdrop.

SPARKS LAKE LOOP

Surrounded by three towering peaks, South Sister, Broken Top and Mt. Bachelor, this popular 2.5-mile trail never fails to disappoint with its breathtaking scenery and crystal-clear lake views.

 

TUMALO FALLS

This beloved Bend waterfall is nestled in a lush evergreen forest. Take in its summertime splendor from one of two viewpoints. The more popular option is located a few short steps from the parking lot, but if you’d like to avoid the crowds, hiking half a mile to the upper viewpoint is worth the extra effort.

 

PAULINA LAKE TRAIL

This climb features roughly 426 feet of elevation gain. Once reaching your destination, you’ll get a unique glimpse of Oregon’s volcanic past. Along the way, be sure to take a moment to admire the pristine waters of Paulina Lake.

 

ALDER CREEK TRAIL

Take a hike to Whychus Creek and Alder Springs through a range of thousand-year-old geological formations. Once you have reached your oasis, you have the option to carefully ford the cool creek and continue on to the Deschutes River. The perfect summer adventure.

 

BROKEN TOP SUMMIT

On this trail, hikers and climbers can expect a full uphill climb (10 hours) with an elevation gain of 4,000 feet. Once you reach the summit, you’ll be rewarded by majestic mountain views of North Sister and South Sister in their full summertime glory. Spikes, poles, and ropes are recommended.

 

SOUTH SISTERS TRAIL

If you’re seeking a slightly more moderate challenge on your next summer hike, this iconic mountain will take you to Oregon’s third tallest peak. With just under 5,000-feet of elevation gain, this hike requires moderate experience and light technical skills. Trekking poles, spikes, and gaiters are all encouraged.

THE LAIR

Technically part of Phil’s Trail, the Lair is a well-designed bike park for those looking to test their two-wheel skills. From large jumps to complex free-riding features—this park has it all. With so much room to roam, it’s perfect for beginners and kids.

 

MT. BACHELOR BIKE PARK

Level up your mountain biking with this challenging set of trails, featuring a lift to take you all the way back up to the top—ideal for enthusiasts who want to enjoy a full day of practice under the sun.

 

MCKENZIE RIVER TRAIL

Considered one of the best mountain biking trails nationwide, this trail is a must-do for expert riders. Rough, bumpy, and narrow pathways present a fantastic opportunity to hone your skills.

 

PAULINA PEAK NEWBERRY CRATER

If you’re ready for high altitudes, this tough 3-mile, 1,600-foot climb from Paulina Lake Campground is one of the most underrated central Oregon rides. Discover clear views of Paulina Peak, East Lake, Paulina Lake, and the Cascades. Be sure to pick up a day pass because the ride is within a national monument.

 

TYLER'S TRAVERSE

This little-known gem is part of the Wanoga trail system and a local favorite for its summery meadows and steep armored climbs, jumps, drops, and rock outcroppings. It’s a solid option for expert riders looking for an epic challenge and epic views.

An unmissable summertime adventure, the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway is a 66-mile driving tour that begins in Bend and heads southwest, straight into the heart of the Cascade Range, beyond the base of Mount Bachelor and past more than a dozen regional lakes.

 

DESCHUTES RIVER PLAYGROUND

The popular Deschutes River is the perfect spot to spend a sunny day swimming, floating, surfing, or kayaking in Bend. This summertime hub is the place to hang out and have fun on or off the water.

 

ROAD CYCLING

Central Oregon is a cyclist’s haven with winding roads and stunning vistas. Its wide range of bikeways showcase some of Oregon’s best scenery, small towns, and diverse geography.
